Blu-Ray players that burn standard DVDs?
My dad was planning on buying a Blu-Ray player for the family as a Christmas gift, but his standard DVD player/burner broke. I was wondering if there was a way to get a Blu-Ray player that burned regular DVDs, so we could kill two birds with one stone? (We don’t want any computer drives, which is all Amazon seems to be turning up.)
I would do exactly what you say you don’t want to do. I would buy the cheapest core2 duo you can find with Vista Home Premium and a bluray player/dvd burner, then hook it up to the TV and surround system.
In addition to watching bluray and recording/watching DVD, you can watch Youtube, streaming video from Netflicks, play online games, etc. on your big TV with surround sound.
Why wouldn’t you want to do that?
