Society does everything it can to get teens to avoid smoking pot, but…?
Society does everything it can to get teens to avoid smoking marijuana, but nothing about cocaine and drinking alcohol. I’ve seen so many “Live above the influence” PSAs telling teens “Don’t smoke pot. You’ll die.” It’s like Reefer Madness without the black and white grain.
I have never seen a PSA for cocaine, alcohol, ketamine, PCP, caffeine, drugs that actually do damage. I know two guys: one pops caffeine pills and the other drinks four cans of Monster per day.
Seriously, what the hell is wrong with society? I would be much more concerned if my child were drinking and doing cocaine.
Then again, I’m only 16, what do I know? I’ve never done drugs, but I wouldn’t mind experimenting. At least I don’t let crap PSAs influence my opinion.
I completely agree. Society is not focused on the bigger issues. Yes smoking marijuana is not something a teenage should be doing because weed is a starter drug for the others, but it’s not as bad as any of the other stuff.
Thats like with the Ban Smoking commericals. Like smoking is really the worst thing that can kill you? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a person dying in a car accident because of smoking.
Honestly I think people are afraid to think that their child is out there doing cocaine or PCP, so they stick with the lesser of two evils and constantly tell them don’t do it. In my area herion is the new weed, and the majority of the users are teenagers or people in their early 20s. Its sad. But like I sad society is to afraid of facing the bigger issue, and thinks that if they don’t worry about it then its not really happening.
